Those of you with a good memory may recall that a couple of months ago I mentioned a new British denim brand named Hiut Denim Co. that was being set up in rural Wales. Well they have finally opened the doors of their factory for business and are taking orders for their first run of jeans. You have a choice between 12oz organic denim from Turkey or 15oz selvedge denim from Japan and two classic cuts – regular straight fit and slim straight fit. The jeans feature some great details including back pockets internally lined with twill for extra strength and a coin pocket designed to fit an iPhone. They will set you back £130 for the organic denim version or £230 for the selvedge version, and if you are one of the first run of 200 then the jeans will also feature a hand-branded leather patch, hand-stamped labels and will be individually numbered. Great denim is all about attention to detail and everything I have learned so far about Hiut tells me that these guys love getting the details right.
