Hey Everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a pair of jeans. I have been pretty busy the past few months with traveling and work. It’s finally music festival season! There have been a lot of good shows here in LA from bands who are playing Coachella but are doing their own thing on the side. This is my favorite part of the year, the weather is getting better and the days are growing longer.

I will be reviewing a pair of Citizens of Humanity Core Slim Straight in a dark wash. Previously, I have never tried CoH but when I put these jeans on… I couldn’t take them off for the rest of the day. I love that they are a dark wash, but are still really comfortable and feel like they have been your favorite jeans for months and months. The fabric has a very soft hand to it and distressing in all the key areas that it would occur naturally (whiskering at the crotch, behind the knees). These jeans were also made in the USA, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but a lot of brands are stepping up their game with making USA made products. The make of the fabric is 100% so they will definitely stretch out a little bit, I recommend buying your true size or sizing down one, depending on how fitted you want them. The leg opening is a little larger than what I would normally wear but I still appreciate the fact that they are a very good fitting and well made jean. A really good trick for keeping your dark wash jeans dark when you wash them is to put a small amount of vinegar in a cold wash the first time to set the color.

Like I’ve said in previous reviews, putting together an outfit for dark denim is really easy because it basically goes with anything. I chose to go with a pretty classic look; a plaid shirt and some Red Wing boots. These boots are my favorites because they are so comfortable and you can’t go wrong with a pair of Red Wings. Later I tossed a sweater over my shirt because it got cold outside and the look still went really well together.

I definitely think Citizens of Humanity is a denim brand worth checking out if you have not done so yet.

The Citizens of Humanity Core Slim Straight Jeans reviewed here are available online from Nordstrom.
