2007 is shaping up to be the year that low-rise jeans were replaced by their high-waisted counterparts in every fashionista’s wardrobe. Sass & Bide are are always at the forefront of any new trend – they were one of the original companies producing skinny jeans and now they are one of the first denim labels to add a high-waisted jeans to their range. Their new Denim & Play Collection includes the Hulsey Strutter (see above), a distinctive looking high-waisted waisted slim leg jean with front deep patch pockets. With the increased popularity of jeans like this hopefully it won’t be long before we can say goodbye to the dreaded muffin top and whale tail.

  1. Sass & Bide is definitely a great line…I love the fit.

    I have a random question for you…

I was wondering if you could help me recommend a few denim lines for a new boutique! My mother and I recently decided to team up together and open a boutique. We’re carrying things for ages 20-50…but we’re primarily targeting the 30-50 modern working woman. We’re carrying Alice & Olivia, Susana Monaco, Kooba, Catherine Malandrino, Lure, Sunner, Rebecca Taylor, Trina Turk, Fashionista, and others. Our clients are on the more conservative side. Can you suggest something a denim line? I’ll owe you my life you could! Thanks so much!

  2. i doubt anyone other than skinny ones can pull off this look. even if you’re skinny, you must eat nothing to squeeze into these jeans. god life’s so hard, why do we need to punish ourselves like that!!! 🙁

btw is it me or does the model in sass & bide ad look like lily cole?

  3. Oh no. I abhore both the look and feel of highwaisted jeans and pants, and I have half a student loan invested in J Brand 7 inch rise jeans. Perhaps it’s time to kick my addiction to premium denim.

  4. To the gal who wanted recommendations for lines to carry in her store, are you familiar with Salt Works Denim? I worked in a boutique that carried them 2 summers ago & they were the ones we would recommend to slightly older women who wanted a higher rise & flattering fit. (Paige & Gold Sign would be good bets too.)
