There is good news for denim retailers (and denim websites!) as it appears that jeans areproving to be immune to the credit crunch at the moment. Market research carried out by NPD Group found that sales of women’s jeans were up nearly 5% over the last 12 months to a total of $7.77 billion. According to NPD Group retail analyst Marshal Cohen “the denim business is still one of the few shining stars in a tough economy.” MSN has covered the same story and has video interviews with the Fashion Director at Bloomingdales and the President of Earnest Sewn.
