This October 3rd will mark the 12th annual Lee National Denim Day. Started in 1996, when Lee Jeans urged their employees to participate in a casual denim day in exchange for a $5 donation to the fight against breast cancer, the program has gone on to raise over $70 million for various research foundations. Today, any company or individual can sign up to start a team. The 2008 ambassadors for the fundraiser are Grey’s Anatomy’s Chandra Wilson and Private Practice’s Tim Daly. Read their stories, and donate to their teams, or make an individual contribution at the Denim Day website. Or, if you’re REALLY good, maybe you can convince your boss to start a team so you can wear your favourite cutoffs to the office.
