According to WSJ.com uber-glamorous denim/lifestyle brand Rock & Republic have decided that in the current climate the time is right to launch a limited edition collection of affordable jeans retailing at $130 which is $50 cheaper than their current range. Furthermore they have decided to scale back on the normally extravagant New York Fashion Week catwalk show and after show party (which in the past has set them back $1 million to $3 million) and instead concentrate on their Paris Fashion Week promotion instead. Expect to see many more premium denim brands offering jeans at sub-premium prices in 2009.
