Chris Gilbert, co-founder of Paper Denim & Cloth, is getting back into denim. His new line, Resin, hits stores in limited supply this fall. Gilbert uses Japanese denim and Asian production before a final trip to LA to wash facilities there. His plan is to keep his retail prices between $128 and $158.

“It became obvious that the world didn’t need another $200 denim line,” Gilbert said.
“There was this gap in the industry that no one owned….My biggest goal is for someone to pick out a pair, try them on, and be shocked when they see the price.”

Do you think that those of us who are used to paying $200 or so for a pair of designer denim will see a big difference in price? Will we be shocked by a pair that is priced $40 – $60 under what we are used to paying? It remains to be seen.
