Will Erin Wasson be the next Kate Moss? Too much of a stretch? It may have been when we first heard about the it-model’s 3-year, 6-collection contract with L.A. skate/surf brand RVCA (pronounced roo-kuh), but the Dallas native has surpassed expectations with her offering for spring, which includes her trademark slightly high-waisted cutoffs and a bold acid wash vest. Edited down to the essentials, each capsule collection will be kept to less than 30 pieces. Everything is laid back, a little tough, a little disheveled, and totally Erin.
The model, who has served as both muse and stylist for Alexander Wang in the past, worked closely in the design process for the line, personally picking out details down to the buttons. She even had artist friends Spencer Sweeney and Hisham Bharoocha design the hang-tags and jacket lining art.
Here is Erin at work, in her lookbook and at last year’s presentation of the spring collection in downtown NYC. Pieces from the spring line are now available online at RVCA’s website and NYC’s Opening Ceremony, and was also ordered by fashion heavy-hitters Barney’s Co-op and Selfridges.
