Jeggings - The Trend From Hell? jeggings4.jpg

Jeggings (such as the ones worn by Zoe Saldana above) were such big news in 2009 that the word is being considered for inclusion in the Oxford English Dictionary. However this combination of jeans and leggings has proved to be one of those things that people either love or hate, as demonstrated by this article in the Daily Beast. I think jeggings can look great worn by the right person (see photo above) but what I just can’t stand is the way journalists insist on making new words by combining two other words (Brangelina, TomKat, etc). Is everyone so busy these days that they don’t have time to say “denim leggings”? Anyway let us know what you think of this trend.

  1. I love my DENIM LEGGINGS and my LEGGING JEANS. I have several pairs that I wear literally everywhere. That’s all I plan to wear while I am in NY next month.

I also dislike the word JEGGING and I despise how journalist combine words as well.

  2. I love the trend but hate the word…Jeggings really…I always say denim leggings…I just feel awkward saying Jeggings

  3. Totally agree. The word even sounds… ugly. And Denim Leggings are not ugly at all. They are undeniably cute.
