Savannah Style - Hellz Bellz Marine Jeans IMG_1885.jpg

Doing this feature post for Denimology is a great opportunity for me to try out looks I otherwise wouldn’t in my normal day-to-day dressing. I’ve been a fan of Hellz Bellz for a few years, they make some of my favorite t-shirts but I’ve yet to try any “street-style” denim.

I usually stay with skinny jeans and this was the first time I had worn baggier pants of any kind. Hellz Bellz gave me the opportunity to sample a pair from their upcoming Spring/Summer collection I was really taken with these black and white jeans called “Marine”.

When I thought about what to wear with them it was a different consideration for me, I had bought this bustier at Urban Outfitters and paired it with the Hellz “Dictator” windbreaker with studs, which I am obsessed with. It took a bit of figuring out what shoes worked best. I felt I needed the extra lift and after tucking the jeans under (I’m 5’4″) I went with my Costume National boots for some extra height.

All in all, I have to say after shooting these pictures I was really comfortable in the jeans. Again, this is a really new look for me and like a new haircut or color I had to adjust what I thought my look was. They are lightweight, super comfortable and in a funny way I felt like I was a little bit tougher while wearing them.

I want to thank my Mom who takes these pictures for me, I probably wouldn’t be as comfortable in front of the camera if it was anyone else, plus she bankrolls my shopping and I appreciate that. I shop at a lot of second hand and vintage stores (I got my Costume National boots at Buffalo Exchange they had never been worn and weren’t expensive) we’re not rich by any means but fashion means everything to me.
