As cargo fever takes over shoppers pocketbooks many brands are expanding their collection to include this must-have item and I’m all for it. Frankie B. has included cargos in their line for many years and this seasons Frankie B. “Maury” Cargo are my favorites so far. It is no secret that I’m a fan of Frankie B. Jeans. Frankie, the daughter and namesake of the brand is my best friend since 4th grade. I love her family as well as the line Daniella Clarke puts forth. Make no mistake though, there is no bias in this review – these are killer cargos!
Made up of 57% cotton, 40% tencel and 3% lycra the fabric is soft, giving and so comfortable that I have been wearing them non-stop. The fit both in rise (7 1/8″ in the front and 11 1/8″ back) and length (31″ inseam) make them perfect to wear with heels, flip flops or boots.
Sometimes pants fit one body type better than another and the true test of a great fit is when a range of body shapes can look great in the same pair of pants. Both my Mom and I have these cargos; I’m a 25, more petite while she’s a 28″ and more athletic, yet both of us love the fit of these. Hopefully she will still be talking to me after I publish her pant size (of note: I fit a size down on these to a 24″). I love the pockets, both at the back and on the knee, as well as the zipper detail on the back pocket. One of the most important details of a pair of pants is the back pocket. As silly as this may sound I think it’s a vital detail that can go wrong if not placed correctly on pants; Often making the difference in how your rear looks. Frankie B. always hits this detail out of the park.
Still feminine with a twist of military and currently available in a worn army green the Maury will also soon be available in grey, white and black . Even Julia Jones of Twilight made a trek to the Frankie B. offices just to pick these up in her size last month when they came in and looks great in hers!
For these photos, I paired the cargos with a simple tank top and my Rodarte for Target lace cardigan (the best designer collaboration Target has ever done). The shoes are my Mom’s Jeffrey Campbell Snick Wedges – I had to change it up from my tan ones for this review and I am so obsessed with Jeffrey Campbell shoes right now. For those who think they seem incredibly high they are so comfortable and easy to walk in – my Mom is more of a high-top tennis shoe person while I love high heels, but she even wears these a lot. I will be wearing these cargos often and for a long time. Again the fabric is simply splendid to the touch and the comfort is unparalleled along with great design, Frankie B. gets 2 thumbs up for their cargos!
