Fans like Gwen Stefani, Alessandra Ambrosio, Nicky Hilton and Ana Beatriz have ensured that Work Custom Jeans are up in the upper echelons of celebrity product placement. With a sexy fit, solid construction and quality hardware WCJ have made their mark in a crowded denim market. To avoid any accusations of favouritism I must declare that I have known the WCJ people for years, as my Mom and one of the principals have been friends since before I was born. This doesn’t influence my review and I just want to be honest with everyone. Because of that relationship I’ve had opportunities to assist them in a variety of projects, like making a video lookbook and styling a photo-shoot. I also send pictures of things I see and like, then some of those details get incorporated into the line. For an aspiring fashionista as myself this is huge!
As the military look took up much of the consumers’ dollars this season Work Custom Jeans “Panther” cargos and shorts were amongst my absolute favorites. The subtle distressing details are perfectly placed and I certainly prefer the light approach when it comes to ripped jeans. The fact that I have received compliments from people who have noticed the zippers on these shorts is worth noting. Those brands who think you can cut corners with hardware should remember this. I love the pockets peeking out below these shorts and the fabric is such a soft brushed cotton that they are amongst the most comfortable denim shorts I have worn. The rise on these (and all WJC I’ve worn) is perfect at 8″ with a back rise of 13″.
I feel that these shorts are super flattering and easy to style. I paired them with platforms (yes my Jeffrey Campbell “Snick” again) and a simple shirt. Denim shorts are a year round fashion staple for me. Through the colder months paired with tights, combat boots and a sweater this would be a great look. Work Custom Jeans moto is “Do What Your Love, Love What You Do” which is a perfect reflection of the brand. I definitely love them for what they do, which is make great clothes for women who want to be stylish and comfortable at the same time.
The Work Custom Jeans “Panther” Cargo shorts in Olive reviewed here are available online for around $187.00.
