The fresh and fetching new collection, Mother Denim, is starting to make it’s social media rounds. The brand was created by two designer denim veterans, Tim Kaeding, former creative director/designer for 7 for All Mankind, and Lela Tillem, former president of sales and marketing at Citizens for Humanity.

Mother‘s first collection includes over a dozen styles (complimented with a bevy of tops) some with stand-out labels like the Curfew, the Drama, and the Runaway Skinny Flare. All the names relate to high school or parental warnings. The washes vary from heavily pigmented black and white denim to uber-saturated blues with twills in soft, buttery colors. Kaeding and Tillem feel Mother will be the “go-to denim brand for seventies styles with irresistible stroke-worthy appeal”.

The synchronized pair have spent the past couple years crafting materials that look like denim but feel like cashmere. With grand ideals, the partners would like to single handedly spawn a denim revival. The first delivery of their collection is set to hit stores in Spring 2011.

Now are you even a bit curious about the meaning behind the brand name? Explains Kaeding, “Mother is an ironic play on a pretty strong word. It can be nurturing or a cuss, but it’s in your face.”
