Diesel Launch Turbo Denim IMG_009478But.jpg

As any male denim aficionado will tell you – if you want the best looking jeans, then you have to buy them raw and wear them in yourself to leave your own personal and unique mark on the denim. The only problem with this is that it takes a long time (9 – 12 months minimum) during which you are also advised to wash your jeans as little as possible to achieve the best fading. As you can imagine this amount of effort can be off-putting to all but the most hardcore of denim fans. Well now thanks to Diesel you can achieve the same results but over a much shorter time period thanks to their new Turbotech technology.

This new type of denim has undergone a special weave and indigo dyeing process that enables the fabric to quickly mould to the wearer’s body and then fade showing their unique imprint. With these jeans you only have to wear them for 30-60 days to achieve a really noticeable fade. Then, when you wash them for the first time the denim turns from Turbo to regular denim and continues to age at the normal rate. It’s a fascinating concept and I am intrigued to see whether it really works, so Matt (our men’s denim reviewer) has been given a pair which he is road-testing right now. Look out tomorrow for the first report in his Diesel 30 Day Turbo Denim Challenge tomorrow.
