Being in the denim reporting business means that (rather obviously) you get to see A LOT jeans and there is no denying that a great deal of them do tend to look rather similar. We have all seen the Houlihan copies that have appeared in pretty much every collection recently. So it is always a delight to receive the new lookbook from the UK’s premier cutting-edge high fashion denim brand Superfine.
For Spring/Summer 2011 Superfine have changed focus slightly by adding a fresh hippy vibe to their rock n roll chic. For me the most exciting thing above Superfine’s jeans is the incredible detailing, treatments and fabrics used. Amongst the denim you will find skinny jeans with woven leather stitching curved around the leg (shown above) and a fabulous new style called the “curve” which pairs denim with pastel green leather and hand-treated silk (shown bottom). The range does not stop at just denim though. These days it is a full ready-to-wear collection featuring t-shirts, jackets, trousers and dresses in jerseys and silks – for those of you looking for something other than jeans.
