I am fortunate to have grown up in a home that believes in the power of giving back and stepping up for those in need. All studies reveal that consumers are more likely to purchase from a brand that aligns itself with a cause they believe in. Volcom, (the California based lifestyle brand) continues to give back in a major way with their second “Give Jeans A Chance Program” gifting homeless over 12,000 pairs of jeans. Skate team riders Jake Duncombe, Darrell Stanton and Chima Ferguson boarded the Volcom Jeans Van and went from shelter to shelter handing out denim to those in need. By utilizing Volcom’s massive fan base for donations, this year saw the program reach as far away as Asia, Europe, Australia, and South America. This campaign isn’t Volcom’s only community program and although a large corporation, they function more like a family, with the door always open to those in need. Now that is a brand I can get behind.
