Mad Style - MiH Marrakesh Kick Flare Jeans IMG_7938.jpg

Ever since flare jeans began emerging again last year I wanted to try them out for myself. Previously my history with the style had not been good, I was worried they would be cut exactly like the the super low rise, giant bell shaped trousers I owned in seventh grade. These MiH Marrakesh Mid Rise Kick Flare jeans however are anything but. They have a very dark blue wash, with no distressing or fading. They also have a perfect amount of stretch and hold, meaning they’re comfortable enough to wear all day but will fit exactly the same from beginning to end (stretched out jeans after an evening out are the worst!). I love the higher waist band and snug fit and I believe they have a perfect amount of flare as they don’t dramatically arc away from the leg right at the knee as was popular in the 70’s. I tried them on with a couple different shoes and found the most flattering fit was with a tall pair of heels. The mid rise waist and long wide leg pant instantly lengthens your legs when heightened with pumps, which is always a welcome surprise! I do love the bohemian trend this year and naturally these flares fit right into that category. But because of their relatively simple design and deep blue colouring they also can work with a range of other styles, they truly are universal!

I’ve really got a lot of love for these jeans and I’m certainly not alone. Quite a few celebrities have been embracing the style and recently Jessica Alba, Claudia Schiffer, Ashley Greene and Katie Holmes were all seen wearing these Marrakesh jeans. As you can see they work not only with a variety of styles but with differing body types and age groups as well.

I don’t know how but before I tried on these jeans I had never heard of the brand MiH. After a bit of research I found the creator, Chloe Lonsdale has quite a bit of denim history. Her parents both were prominent figures in the industry as well as her god father, in fact it was his brand “Made in Heaven” that she revived into the incredibly cool “MiH” brand that thrives today. I now can see why they are internationally renowned for their amazing yet versatile cuts and washes, and their ability to look good on anyone.

Although I previously was in the dark about this brand I will certainly be checking them out on my future denim shopping trips and if you are in the market for a classy pair of flares for 2011 then I can definitely recommend MiH Jeans.

  3. Hi, I have a question? The color pictured above on the girl is Kara right? Ink appears to be a much lighter wash.
