Back when Nicole Richie was appearing in The Simple Life if you had told me that she was going to become a style icon I would have never believed you. Back then she was about as far removed from being a fashionista as it is possible to be (see evidence below). Anyway, seven years later and with a lot of good advice she really has become a genuine style influencer. The above photo of Nicole leaving the Andy Lecompte Salon in West Hollywood wearing Erin Wasson X RVCA Hish Cut-Offs is a perfect example of how denim shorts can be worn in the winter months.

  1. Really, if you ask me, don’t all reality stars in the beginning had awful style sense. Kim K, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham…. until getting more stardom and money and designer ‘like’ qualities, now they are the ones to look after in trend setters. I’m baffled at how we forget the real stylists behind the celebs and the real trendsetters of fashion. oh well….

    • How funny! I just had this conversation about Britney Spears funny enough. The girl is dressed like crap all the time but at least she is herself and not portraying herself as one thing style wise but being another.

    • Hi Liz, what you say is totally right. With the right amount of money anyone can be advised and polished up to become a trendsetter. I wonder whether in 4 years time we will all be talking about what a great sense of style Snookie has.

  4. Also, Obviously knowing she is different to the reality stars but I see where you are going with this and agree completely.

  6. Your point is lizmelen? This seems like another “I hate reality tv celebs” post with its truly equally “I hate whoever gets attention” whatever, sometimes I wonder why do we think we’re doign any justice ot the so called unsung when all we do is down others in the process, trust me they wouldn’t be flattered at all
