I was excited to try on my first pair of Siwy Jeans – the Hannah Slim Crop Jean in Forever. I always love them when the other girls review them and wanted to see what the commotion was all about. I get it now, after checking out their other styles, this brand is pretty amazing. I’m not finished writing about this one and I already am looking forward the next Siwy pair I get. Thus far these have been my favourite jeans to wear. When I fist unpacked them with my brother all he said was ‘these are adult jeans? they’d fit Johnny! [my 8 year old nephew]’… I’m not gonna lie I was kind of flattered in a way, I mean hello!
These were not my favourite because of the color, or style, but because they fit perfectly, the waist band kind of reminded me of this one pair of Mavi jeans I once owned (I wonder where they are now?), they are lined with extra denim and as a result really secure you, without making myself sound like an 80 year old woman, but it’s true. I have had encounters with jeans in the past that, no matter how skinny you are they are so badly sewn that they actually push you out of them – terrible visual. But not these, AND they look really great when you look down on your legs. Which to me would be the ultimate test, I mean you look bigger to yourself when you look from the top down, so if you are satisfied without looking in the mirror, well… you should still make sure you look good in the actual mirror BUT you get the point.
Honestly I had a little bit of trouble bending my legs when I was piggy backed over the snow from the car to the sidewalk, but that’s the price to pay isn’t it. Like every pair of jeans (and shoes), they have to be worn in a little before you start feeling super comfortable. The only complaint I’d have here is the length (shocking I know), but with these ones in particular I am still a little confused whether they were supposed to be full length or 3/4?
I have recently become way obsessed with silk tops. I used to hate them because you couldn’t get them wet and once you wash them they are not the same (yes I realize I should probably be dry cleaning), but lately I can’t get enough of how wonderfully they lie when you put them on. I got a beautiful orange one (speaking of colours) and I can just imagine how great it would look with this particular wash. A note of warning to all, however, make sure you launder the jeans before wearing them, especially with such a deep colour like these ones. I had a recent accident on a job where a pair of jeans stained my brand new beige, suede wedges. That was not a happy moment for me, especially that I just got the shoes the day before. Such is life. Cheers.
