Hi everyone!! First off I wanted to introduce myself. This is my first denim review for Denimology and I’m very excited to have teamed up with them and online boutique, Blue Heaven to bring you the hottest new denim each week. My name is Shea Marie and I run the fashion blog CheyenneMeetsChanel.com. I live in West Hollywood, CA and I used to work designing for a denim company, so I am definitely an insider in this industry.
Let me actually take this time to explain my size, because I know that makes all the difference in how jeans fit. I’m 5’7 and about 118 lbs. I usually wear a 25 or 26. My legs are slightly long for my body, and a have a little bit of a booty going on. Finding the perfect jeans is always so hard for me. Or maybe it’s just because I’m so picky.
The first pair of jeans I will be reviewing is a lovely pair of Siwy “Hannah” skinny jeans in Desert Rose. Desert Rose in terms of color is what I’d call a dusty pink. Pink with a hint of gray. Light colored pastel jeans are definitely in for spring/summer 2011. The days of only blue jeans are long over! These are slightly different than your regular colored jeans too because they have the grayish tint to them. Which makes them more transferable into your nighttime wardrobe. Although I usually stick to neutrals it’s fun to have a couple colored options, and if you are into colors these are a great option. Plus these are available in other colors as well!
Let me warn you that I am extremely picky when it comes to jeans. When I find a pair that I like I wear them over and over until they literally become un-wearable. So know that when I review jeans I may be slightly more harsh than most.
Although I’m happy to say that these definitely passed my test. They fit perfectly, which is pretty rare for me. I’m kind of in that weird in-between size 25 and size 26. So I never really know which way to go. I went with a size 26 and these fit me like a glove. Yay! Maybe it’s all the food I ate in Miami on vacation last week?? Hmmm. So good fit? Yep, check!
That brings me to thing that is most important to me: length. These are that perfect-for-summer skinny jean length and you can wear them with a plain tank top and flip flops and look super cute, a la Kate Bosworth and Gwyneth Paltrow style. They end slightly on the top of your ankle. Longer than capris or crops but slightly shorter than your average skinny jean. I love this look for summer!
All in all these jeans have passed my test and I would definitely love to add them to my wardrobe.
