I am coming to you from my brand new Mac. I feel like the upgrade has been a long time coming. I recently upgraded my OS from Tiger to Leopard and it has been so slow ever since, worst decision I ever made. For all your bloggers out there you totally understand how important is the ability to be quick and efficient. Thank goodness, the worst it behind me anyways.
This past week has been super swamped with work on all fronts for me. Tax season nearing it’s end for me which means one of these days I will actually catch up on some sleep. Until then I surrounded myself with magazines and enough inspiration so that I don’t mentally bury myself in this numerical limbo.
The fashion events in Calgary in these last couple of weeks have really been picking up, one of them will be the store opening of the first ever Victoria’s Secret, quite an exciting moment. Even though we still won’t be able to buy their jeans in store (they are catalogue or online only) I think it’s a fabulous coincidence that this is happening just as I receive a VS package in the mail with gorgeous denim, of all shapes and sizes. Ok so maybe it was only two. But isn’t it always Christmas when you get something unexpected, better yet when you are pleasantly surprised.
It’s no secret that Victoria’s Secret is not high end denim, they cater to the more affordable end of the market. At $59.90 these are definitely the kind of jeans that speak to me in terms of price. I have to tell you I was in love with the VS Siren Legging Jeans the moment I saw them, I love destroyed (distressed?) denim, the more holes the better – even IF our grandmas think we are poor as a result.
These Siren light wash jeans are the perfect middle ground. You don’t feel guilty spending the $59.90 (now reduced to $46.70) and you have a pair that look fantastic (even angels wear them!). The distressed look doesn’t have to be the end of story, the style comes in 6 different washes (5 of which are hole free) and you can also get them in 2 different lengths 30 and 32, which is still not an answer for my ongoing problem with length, but it will definitely be for many. I love the skinny fit no matter how long they are. Having tried on more than one wash I will warn that they do fit a little differently, don’t be afraid to go a size up in the darker wash and maybe even a size down in the light distressed wash, which seems to be much more stretchy. The worry I would have in fact is that they have the potential to stretch quite a bit. Although I have worn them everyday since and still haven’t encountered any problems, but it’s worth watching out for. Overall these are a steal of a deal.
