One thing I love about living in Florida is the fact I can wear shorts and sleeve-less shirts in the spring-time, when most of the country is still battling cold temperatures. I’ve been anxiously waiting for a cool pair of shorts to come my way, so when this pair came in the mail I was stoked!
Siwy is a brand I’ve been curious about since I’ve started denim reviews for Denimology. Maybe it’s the large celeb following – Megan Fox and Vanessa Hudgens are big fans of the brand – – or perhaps it’s the fun detail (on the back pockets) that I’m drawn to. I’m usually one that opts for a pair of jeans with a minimalist approach – with very little to no detailing on the pockets, but something about the pocket design on a pair of Siwy’s that just adds personality and spunk!
The Siwy Camilla Cut Off Shorts in Sand Castles are the perfect spring/summer shorts! They are 98% cotton and 2% elastan, so they are super comfy and are far from restricting. The material is incredibly soft too! The length is just right for a cut off short. I’m really fond of the neutral color of the denim, and I can see these shorts paired with various tops and shoes.
Siwy claims that the fray on these shorts “will never shorten or thin, even after multiple washes.” This is a plus in my opinion, especially because these shorts are not cheap ($152 to be exact). I think if you shell out this much for a pair of shorts (let alone any pair of denim), they should last you multiple washes/wears. Don’t you agree?
All and all I’m glad to have finally tried the Siwy brand, and I’m already craving more. I think if you can afford the steep price tag on these shorts, then you should definitely buy them. This pair can easily be a staple in any girl’s spring/summer wardrobe. Whether you are building “sand castles” on the beach (hence the name of the wash), or you are chillin’ out at a backyard BBQ, these shorts are definitely cool.
