I have just returned from a trip to Poland, I spent 2 weeks in my home country saying goodbye to the house I grew up in. My parents decided to cut our last remaining ties and sold it. We don’t have any family there left (our whole family maybe counts 10 people… it makes it easy during christmas 🙂 ). I didn’t leave however without an appetite for more. I visited Warsaw for the first time as an adult and I was so pleasantly surprised. The city booms with life, it can easily be compared to any big European capital. I was so proud to be Polish at that moment. I will recommend everyone to go to Warsaw at least once. I only had two days there and did not have much time for exploring but I bought myself an alternative guide to the city before I left and I will be back next year for sure. There is so much of that country that I need to see, it’s full of history and culture and the food is to die for. One of the things I will miss most will be the food. It’s so easy to spot stylish people on the street, I was happy to know that fashion doesn’t go unnoticed there either. They have some great fashion magazines, and you can tell people read them. I can just go on and on. You can see all my photos from my trip on my blog, aniab.net.

In my attempt to try to catch up on all the work what was waiting for me I have fallen behind with my denim reviews. Once new packages started coming it was time to pick myself up and give you my 5 cents on all things denim before the seasons change again. These Siwy Madeline denim shorts will not be my first pick for a summer day out on the town. The fit is really big, I would say don’t be scared to go even 2 sizes smaller (I am wearing a 27 here and normally I am a 26). The plus points are that the fabric is nice, the fit itself is perfect and Siwy knows how to work the waist band well. However, the negative points for me are the grey/olive color of the denim and the overall style of the shorts, which is a little too Britney Spears circa 2007. Given the choice between these and the Rockstars denim shorts I reviewed last week I would go for the Rockstars every time.

The Siwy Madeleine Cut-Off Shorts with Exposed Pockets in Falcon’s Eye reviewed are available from Singer22.com.
