Tomas Maier was inspired by 2011’s Arab Spring when he drafted the latest men’s collection for Bottega Veneta. Crumpled two-piece tailoring reigned supreme with each piece treated in a variety of fabric treatments: washing, creasing, over-printing, over-dyeing, dip-dyeing. I am not sure how I feel about the strangely stylish denim and leather fits he created…. they leave me chin tapping with a hmmmm… Heck so do the tie-dye denim trousers. Odd. I don’t know how well this will translate to real life but on the catwalk it was an obvious show meant to tantalize and stun. You can view the whole of the latest collection here.
