I am back with my second review here on Denimology, and this time I will be talking about Current / Elliot’s ‘The Pony Boy’ jean which is available from Donna Ida here in the UK.
I was really excited to get my hands on a pair of Current / Elliott jeans as I have heard so many great things about this brand and of course have been unable to escape the vast quantity of celebrities who wear them religiously.
Upon trying on these jeans I was not disappointed and can certainly see why there is so much hype surrounding the brand. They are some of the most beautifully soft and comfortable jeans I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. They are also great for all seasons as the denim is not too heavy making it comfortable and breathable for most conditions.
The fit of these is low slung and with a slightly dropped crotch giving them a modern and urban edge whilst maintaining a subtle and easy to wear style. These are a size 25 and they fit me very low on the hip. I would suggest going a size smaller in this brand if you want to wear them that slight bit higher. They are so comfortable on the waistband and have a flattering shape to the leg, which tapers into a slight crop above the ankle and has a twisted seam. The only negative I would point out for these is that they are not as flattering on the behind as some other styles, but then this is something I guess we have to sacrifice when wearing baggier jeans!
These are so easy to style up, they look great with cuffs rolled up and worn with both heels or gladiator sandals for the summer. I have paired them with a cropped t shirt and some platform boots but they would ooze laid back sophistication with a slouchy white t-shirt and not much else.
The price tag on these is quite high at £200 but the quality of these is fantastic so if you are looking for a change from the skinny jean then these are well worth the money.
