I was really excited to try out these new concept jeans from Diesel. They are called ‘Jogg – Jeans’ and they are a new mix of jogging bottom and jean in one. You will have seen a review from Charlotte earlier this week and Diesel were kind enough to gift me the same product in a different wash so that I could give you my opinion also. Upon unwrapping these I was struck first by how soft they are to the touch, the fabric is so snug and comfortable with a cotton, polyester and elastane content. Great for lazing about or for busy days when you still want to be comfortable and stylish.
The fit of these is quite a new and interesting one, they can be worn low or high on the hips thanks to the elasticated waistband, and due to my personal style I decided to wear them low on the hip showing off the drop crotch detail and the urban edge of the design. These are a size 26 and they fit great even on the hip, so I would say you can afford to go smaller by a size or two with this particular style as the waistband is so stretchy. They have a baggy look and are quite boyish in their design although the legs do taper at the ankles and have a contrast material which again is elasticated. The ankles can be ruched up a bit due to the elasticity meaning you can make the drop crotch detail more slouchy if desired. There are some cool details to these including some interesting pockets to the back and a drawstring tie which fastens to the side rather than to the centre.
I really love the colour wash of this pair, they are a pale blue with worn and distressed effects to the dye and some ripped areas. The wash is really great for matching with various colours and styles. I have styled these with high heels for a bit of a contrast but they would work really well with gladiator sandals or a pair of converse!
Even though these are a very refreshing and exciting idea from Diesel I do feel that there are some minor negative points. Firstly the material is so soft and giving that I found it tended to loosen a lot on the behind after sitting down. Also I did find them a little warm to be wearing out and about on a hot summer day (yes we do get those in London!)
All in all I would say if you want to purchase a super comfortable and easy to wear jean with a more urban and laid back look then these are a great buy and a chance to try out something new!
