These Genetic Denim Cypress Slim Bell Jeans in Twilight were a lot different from the other bell-bottom jeans I’ve reviewed, simply because they are slimmer. They almost seem more like a slim flare than a bell-bottom to me – perhaps that’s because I’m used to a more dramatic bell shape?
The fit was nice…super comfy on the hips and fitted through the legs all the way to below the knee. With 67% rayon, 31% cotton, and 2% polyurethane the stretch is superb. The “bell” that releases from the knee is slim -hence the name of the jean – so I’d refer to these as “baby bell-bottoms.” If you aren’t brave enough for an extreme flare or bell-bottom, then these are for you!
The wash is unique. That’s one thing I can say about this brand is that the washes separate them from other denim brands on the market (see my past Genetic Denim review HERE). This wash is a deep indigo -almost blackish blue. I like it because it’s edgy and looks amazing with silk button downs. Another thing I love about this brand is the way the jeans hug every curve of your body, resulting in a flattering fit.
If I had to say one negative comment about these jeans, I would say I wish they were a tad longer. They have a 35″ inseam, which surprises me because most jeans I’ve tried with a 35″ inseam touch the floor, so not sure why these are different.
Overall I’m diggin’ them and I have to say Genetic Denim is a very likeable brand, so if you haven’t tried them out you need get on it!
