Hey lovelies!! I hope all of you had an amazing holiday (whichever holiday you celebrate)! My Christmas was joyous! Loved being surrounded by my family that I was missing so much! I’m still enjoying my holiday break in the panhandle of Florida, and I don’t want it to end. The weather is starting to get real chilly and I’m loving it… but sadly I know it will warm up again. Just typical bi-polar weather in Florida. I suppose it could be the opposite and absolutely freezing with snow on the ground every day, and that would certainly get old… so I’ll stop my complaining. 😉
I received these Ideal Super Skinny Ankle Jeans in “Superior” from the brand Henry & Belle before the holiday break, and I was eager to try them on. Firstly, I’ve never tried the brand before and secondly, the wash and cut was different than other jeans I’ve reviewed on Denimology. I was instantly attracted to the brand when I read that it had stemmed from a love story between Henry Mann and his wife Belle. I love a great love story! Henry started designing in the garment district of Chicago in the early 1930’s, and he used his wife Belle as his muse. How cute is that? Henry and Belle were dedicated to creating high quality denim while also giving back to their community. Today the Mann family holds true to this tradition and continues to focus on “craftsmanship and humanitarianism.” By wearing Henry & Belle jeans, you can help the Mann family continue their tradition as they raise awareness and funds for diverse issues in your local community.
These Ideal Super Skinny Ankle Jeans in “Superior” slipped on with ease, and their stretch was one of the best I’ve experienced in denim. That must be why they are considered the “Ideal Super Stretch Ankle.” I wore these jeans the entire day and they didn’t stretch out a bit! The fit was perfect. I love the way they hugged my curves and I felt they made my bum look great too! They hit right at the ankle, which is what I crave for in a great skinny jean. However, I think they would have looked better in a darker wash with this length. With the medium blue wash, I felt they would have looked better cuffed at the ankle — but I wanted to show all of you the length so I refrained from cuffing them in the photos.
In my opinion, medium blue washes always give off a classic yet more casual look. I prefer darker denim when going out or dressing up, especially in the winter season. However, I do think this wash would look wonderful in the spring and summer — especially cuffed and worn with a great heel or wedge and paired with a fun top and blazer.
I loved the simplicity of the jean. No crazy stitching on the pockets and the leather “Henry & Belle” patch on the back waist band is subtle and expensive looking. The single gold stitch that opens up into the script “hb” on the back pocket is also a nice touch. It’s a nice way of showing off the name of the brand without being too showy.
Overall I was quite pleased with these jeans, and I’m looking forward to cuffing them at the ankle and pairing them with a great ankle boot and long sweater. It’s easy to see why celebs such as Zoe Saldana , Shenae Grimes, and Sarah Jessica Parker are fans of the brand. The quality of this denim was superb and the fit was true to size and undeniably comfortable. If the jean is comfy AND it holds it’s fit throughout a day’s wear, then I’m sold! I’m looking forward to trying other styles from this brand, and I can easily see this brand becoming one of my faves.
