Hey Ya’ll! I’m back to start the year off with a bang with these awesome Skinny Wax Coated Jeans in “Khaki” by Robin’s Jean. I had never heard of this brand until now — and I must have been hiding under a rock because this brand is a huge hit among celebs, and has also been featured many times on Denimology.
Robin’s Jean was founded and designed by Robin Chretien (you can read the Q&A Robin did with Denimology HERE). Robin was born in France and arrived in LA in 1996. He’s designed for denim companies, such as Blue Cult and Hudson Jeans. Robin’s Jean has become a fave denim brand worldwide and the unique washes, flattering cuts, and attention to detail has set them apart from a lot of top denim companies. Robin’s signature jean logo is a set of wings, which reflect Robin’s playful side and “childhood dreams.”
When I first set eyes on this pair of jeans, I was swooning! The color is so fabulous and not something I’ve ever seen or tried on in the past. These jeans slipped on with ease and were instant comfort. They fit like a glove and were not too tight or constricting. I definitely think this brand runs true to size because this is one of three pairs I reviewed and each pair was true to size for me. The jean is 97% cotton and 3% lycra, giving them a great deal of stretch, yet they still hold their fit. I’m usually not a fan of brands that have big logos or crazy stitching, but I’m quite fond of the wings. I like the placement and how they blend into the jean. It’s noticeable, but not tacky at all. I felt the inseam and rise was perfect on this pair of denim. If you read my reviews regularly, then you know I’m picky with inseams. I can’t have them too long or too short, and this pair is just right.
Since this wash of jean was so unique, I wanted to have fun and put a playful and vibrant look together. I paired these jeans with a vintage silk top in a bright raspberry hue, and my emerald green pumps. The result is a fun color-blocking ensemble! I could easily see these jeans paired with a chambray or denim shirt with a fun pair of ankle boots in either black, brown, or even a leopard print!
Overall I was very pleased with this pair of jeans, and I now have this brand to add to my growing list of faves. The only downside is the price tag of these jeans — $249. Which can be steep when you are looking at a pair of jeans that has a wash that is unique and not as versatile as the usual blue or black wash. However, if you can afford these jeans, I highly recommend them because this pair is a stunner and should be included in any denim lovers growing collection.
