Susan Style - Paige Denim Verdugo Jegging in Dusk dusk3.jpg

Hello fellow denim aficionados. My name is Susan, and I’m really excited to be doing my first denim review for Denimology. I’ve been a fan of denim since I was 5 years old, and it still remains a staple piece in my closet today.

Today’s review is on a pair of Paige Denim Verdugo Jegging in Dusk. I’d been curious to try a pair of Paige Verdugo Jeggings for some time now. I’ve seen them around, and they seem to have a nice fit on those that I’ve seen wearing them. I tried on a pair once before, but they didn’t seem to fit right on me. They felt a bit loose and tight in all the wrong places. But I was really pleased when I tried this particular pair on. From my experience with Paige Jeans, the fit and sizes vary quite a bit with the different washes.

What I love most about these jeans is the fit. They fit like a glove. They are very fitted everywhere. In fact, I’d say these run about a size small. I took one size up in these, and even with that, they are skin tight. Made of 73% cotton and 27% elasterell-p, these don’t have a lot of stretch. The waistband is not very forgiving, giving an extra tight fit along the waist. Paige Jeans usually have a waistband lining that gives some added comfort in the waistline, but these do not have that extra lining. They are very fitted along the thighs and calves as well. Although these are a darker colored denim, they’re actually fairly light weight.

These are a 5 pocket design. The rear pockets have Paige’s signature beige diagonal line stitching on the left pocket. The pockets are quite flattering on the derriere, which is a big plus for me! The wash is called Dusk, which is a very dark, raw blue color with no fading. I find colors like this very versatile and easy to dress up or down. Keep in mind, these bleed quite a bit. So be mindful when wearing lighter colors that rub against these jeans. I guarantee, it will turn blue. Any jean lover will understand when I say that I try to wash my jeans as minimally as possible to keep the original color of the jeans. But these jeans had to go in the wash immediately because they bled against just about anything they touched. After one wash in gentle cycle and mild detergent, the bleeding stopped for the most part and the dark natural color remained which I was very pleased about.

The inseam length is 29 inches, which hits just above my ankles. I love when I don’t need to get my jeans altered. These would look great with just about any pair of shoes, whether it’s heels, wedges, sandals, flats, or boot. If you are looking for a nice classic pair of skinnies, these are a great pair to try. But keep in mind how fitted they are, particularly along the thighs and calves. The leg opening is a tight 9 ½ inches. The rise measurement is 7 ½ inches. (Measurements may vary slightly with different sizes.)

Washing instructions are: Turn inside out, machine wash cold, gentle cycle with like colors, tumble dry low, remove promptly, do not dry clean.

  1. Love the color. Thanks for the 411 on length, because it makes a difference when jeans are ready to wear and don’t have to be hemmed. I also like that they look cute with all styles of shoes. Great write up!
