Hey there dahhhlings! π Today I have a review of a brand I was recently introduced to: Standards & Practices. S&P denim is all about providing jeans that are on-trend, figure-flattering, and most importantly easy on the wallet. What’s not to like, right? Even Khloe Kardashian is a fan!
When I first received these “Zippin Along” Skinny Jeans in Classic Blue, I was instantly pleased to see the zipper detailing. {If you follow my denim reviews, then you know how much I adore zippers on denim!} There is zipper detailing by the front pocket, and double zipper detailing is featured from the knee down to the ankle. I’ve tried plenty of zippered denim, but never a pair that featured a double zipper! The zipper detail is only for show though, you cannot actually zip them! However, I don’t mind because I like how S&P gave these jeans a unique look!
The jeans are cotton and spandex, so they had a nice stretch to them. The denim had a nice feel as well, but the fit wasn’t as comfy as I had hoped. These jeans have a lower rise than most, so I found myself pulling them up in the back every so often to keep them from creeping down. Other than that one flaw, they were pretty comfy for a skinny jean. They weren’t tight or constricting and I loved how they hit right at the ankle.
The classic blue wash was unexpected for such an edgy jean – but just like the double zipper detailing, I liked how S&P kept the look fresh and unique. Since it was a chilly day, I paired these jeans with a cable knit sweater, my fave Sam Edelman boots, and my Grandpa’s vintage fedora.
Overall, I’d have to say these jeans weren’t the best in the fit department, but I love the style. After viewing S&P’s spring 2012 and fall 2012 lookbooks, I’m eager to try another style by them! How do you feel about zippers on denim? Are you a fan of the edgy look??
