Hey there denim fanatics! I’ve got a fun review for you all today! I’m reviewing the Mandy Retro Slim Jean in Navy Petite Rose Print by Citizens of Humanity. Denim with prints is on the rise, and these floral beauties have been getting well deserved attention!
Now, some of you might not be a fan of denim with prints. Some of you may even despise floral pants because they might remind you too much of the 80’s (acid wash jeans & big hair)! However, I ask you to give this fun denim trend a chance, because when styled correctly, these eye-catching pants are sure to get you noticed – and in a good way!

I’m a huge fan of loud prints and bright colors, so naturally these pants had me at “Hello.” I received these pants in navy blue, but they also come in a crisp white HERE {love them both!} I featured these jeans on my fashion blog, Belle de Couture, HERE – and although some of my readers were unsure if they themselves could pull them off, the majority was as smitten as I was/am.

Because these floral pants have multiple colors in the print, it’s very easy to pull one color from the mix and go with that when choosing what color top to wear. I chose a bright orange, but I can easily see these jeans being paired with a chambray or denim shirt, as well as a classic tee in white or gray! If you’re really brave, you can even mix prints and pair these jeans with a polka-dotted top! 😉

Now let me get down to the nitty gritty of this denim review – that’s the fit and feel of these jeans. They are incredibly soft (much like the Citizens I reviewed HERE). They are 97% cotton and 3% lycra. They didn’t have much stretch to them, but I didn’t mind. The 9″ rise is great – they sit slightly above the hip bones. The 31″ inseam and the 13″ leg opening were perfect for the style of jean. Most jeans that roll-up at the ankles are skinnier and tighter in fit, but these were roomy and gave off a looser, laidback look. I like that they have a unique fit. These jeans are rolled-up at the ankles on the model, but I decided to wear them rolled down.

These jeans were extremely comfortable! The last pair of jeans I reviewed by Citizens of Humanity were skinny in style, and I wore a size 27. These pants are slim leg, not tight and “skinny.” I also wore a size 27 in this pair. I felt these weren’t as tight as the other pair I had reviewed, but as I said the others were skinny and these are slim leg. I wore these all day and didn’t want to take them off! They were that comfy!! They almost had a broken-in kind of feeling, but in a good way, not in a baggy ill-fitting kind of way.

Overall I have to say I really liked these jeans – they’re fun to wear and just perfect for spring and summer! Plus, they are SO on trend! I’m really eager to dress these beauties up for evening – maybe with a simple white or gray tee and a white blazer – oh and chic heels or wedges of course! J

What do you think of floral denim? Are you a fan? Would you give them a shot?
