Denim Streets: Field Day Festival fidw0612_DSC_6135_hr.jpg

We’ve got some exclusive coverage from our friends over at Stylesight’s denim blog, the Denim Daily Dose who sent us their picks from their summer festival coverage.

As festival season is well and truly upon us, we’re going to give you little slices of denim festival styling as often as we can here on the DDD.

The other week we were down at the fantastic one day London music festival, Field day. The event may only last one day but tons of new bands and big acts were packed into the line-up. A focus on hip and underground acts with big indie crowd-pleasers meant that the attendees were a fashionable bunch. Bands included Metronomy, Kindness, Grimes, The Vaccines, Summer Camp and Sleigh Bells.

London lasses continue to draw inspiration from the grunge era of the 90′s for their festival denim styling: layers of faded denim jackets, vests and archival 90′s stonewash fits gave girls a disheveled cool attitude. The classic trucker is re-worked for 2012 with fabric-blocked yokes and contrast plaid collars and cuffs.

The Summer staple returned yet again for 2012: shorts and rompers continued to be key for juniors and some cute updates kept the looks fresh. We love the simple utility of the jumper far left with its side entry and center-front seam. The classic workwear ‘dungaree’ aligned with the 90′s styling still taking hold in the UK and classic pin-up shorts were decorated with girly lace trim.
