Hey denim fans! The summer season is almost upon us, and we’ve already been feeling the hot hot heat here in Florida! Speaking of hot, I have a HOT denim review for you today; featuring MET in Jeans Angel Jeans with Gold Chains. If you aren’t familiar with the brand MET in Jeans, they are a popular Italian denim brand worn by countless celebs, such asKate and Pippa Middleton, Kylie Minogue, Elle Macpherson, and Naomi Watts. Denimology recently featured MET in Jeans HERE and HERE, and let’s just say these jeans are far from ordinary. These jeans just ooze sex appeal from their super low waists, distressing, and chains, this brand is not afraid to be bold and sexy. Although the majority of their styles are eye-catching, the brand does carry denim that is more low-key for those customers looking for a more classic look.
At first glance these jeans seemed a little too flashy for my own person style, but then I noticed that the chains on the back pockets and the sparkly brand label were all detachable. I think that feature is great because it allows you to have two different styles in one jean, depending on the look you’re going for. This style is very unique and unlike any other jean I own. I like to have a wide variety of denim styles in my closet, and these distressed skinny jeans with back pocket chains are fun and unique. Although I don’t see myself wearing these as often as I wear my other, more classic styles of jean, I definitely think I’d reach for these when I want to mix up my look for a night out. I would wear these jeans with a tee (like I’m wearing in these shots) with a nice blazer and heels.
Since these jeans are made in Italy, I knew they were going to run small. I went a size up (a size 28 to be exact), and the jeans fit me like a glove. They are 98% cotton and 2% elastane, which give the jean just a smidgen of stretch. The inseam is 174 cm, waist is 69 cm, and the hips are 93 cm. They are definitely lower rise, which is something I am not real used to, but they were still comfortable to wear and they stayed on my hips (didn’t creep down at all). They have 5 pockets and a 2 button closure. The distressing starts at the high thigh/hip and ends at the shins.
These jeans might not be very practical, but they will definitely turn heads and get you noticed. Now that I’ve tried this brand, I’d love to try a darker wash in a more sleek style with less distressing. What do you think about the brand? Are you a fan of distressed denim? What about denim with chains? Would love to read your thoughts!
