Denimology x Earnest Sewn Denim 30 Day Challenge - 30 days IMG_2929.jpg

I wish I would of had more time to see the fading process. Simply put 30 days is not enough. You can barely see the difference from underneath my patches. I was hoping the patches would leave a significant difference but alas, these jeans are sturdy and really needed a greater amount of time to break. After washing my jeans lost the honeycombs starting on the backs. That was sad. Normally I would not wash so soon but the 30 days was up.

I wore these jeans everyday (even while I was in the hospital) and sometimes I even slept in them. Pissed my mom off because the jeans bled on my bed sheets. I love the floral designs sewn around the pocket and the ankle trim. Someone made a comment that it looked like I sewed old curtains on my jeans and that is exactly what I was going for. I was glad they could tell.

Size for me was too big. I really could’ve used a size 28 instead of a 29. It got so large I was getting rub marks through my underwear. I guess I know better for next time.

I look forward to hearing what Earnest Sewn thinks of my jeans even if they don’t recreate my jeans.

  1. It seems incredibly naive to think that any wear would be visible after 30 days. A good wear pattern takes at least 6 months to a year to show. It really surprises me that a blog like denimology would be so clueless to this basic fact that ANY denim fan should know.

    •  I appreciate your comment. Jason has not reviewed or fully experimented with Raw denim. He is not Denimology. He just experimented FOR US with the jeans for the Earnest Sewn experiment. As seen in the pictures, there was SOME wear. Also, brands like Nudie make denim that breaks quickly and we expected that to happen. What is the point in a 30 day trial of denim if you are NOT supposed to see a change? That was his opinion.
