The concept of boyfriend jeans is genius – a mix of androgynous sex appeal and great level of comfort sound so good especially for women who are used to being sucked into things like super tight skinnies and leggings all day long. I myself have a few pairs and am really enjoying these moments of leisurely wear. My latest, the 7 For All Mankind Josefina Skinny Boyfriend jeans in Luminous Light Destroy, were an instant favorite, let me tell you why.

I really do like distressed denim but for some reason have never owned anything quite as dramatic. These jeans are definitely the most destroyed I have ever had and I absolutely love them! Might sound silly but I feel much cooler and edgier wearing my shredded Josefinas ☺ Needless to say that the destroyed wash looks great with the tomboy silhouette and completes the look.

As I mentioned before there are a few boyfriend jeans in my closet but most of them almost never leave the shelf. The thing is that this seemingly easy and relaxed fit is not that simple to execute – just think how tricky it must be to create a loose fitting pair of jeans that also looks good on. The 7 For All Mankind Josefina is definitely well thought out and close to perfection; not only does it fit great for the first fifteen minutes but also after walking and sitting for the whole day. The waist band sits lower on your hips and doesn’t create those much hated “juicy” rolls on your sides (like some of my old jeans did). With a somewhat roomy hip and thigh and a tapered leg these boyfriends fit a little closer to the skin and show off a bit more of your body shape than usual which is very sexy ☺. The relatively short 29″ inseam looks good either cuffed or uncuffed although my preference is still the skinny roll.

The denim is a bit more on the thicker side which helps the jeans keep their form considering the relaxed nature of the fit. And though it is a typical blend of 98% cotton and 2% spandex in actuality it is not too stretchy which also works perfectly for the boyfriend silhouette and distressed finish. By the way, since we are talking about distressing – the holes are backed with a special heat appliqué that will keep them intact for at least a few washes but I still wouldn’t wash such a heavily destroyed style too often.

I am definitely a PROUD owner of the 7 For All Mankind Josefina Skinny Boyfriend and really glad to have them in my wardrobe. Fun, hip, sexy and so comfy, they have all of the qualities you dream of in a pair of jeans!

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!

  1. Those are NOT boyfriend jeans.  I hate boyfriend jeans. They have baggy thighs and baggy legs and are completely unsexy.  What you’re wearing fits snugly from waist to skinny legs.  They look awesome on you.  Since I like them, they can’t be boyfriend jeans.

    Bonus points for the shoes.
