This is my first time reviewing overalls on Denimology, and I have to admit I was really excited. One of the hottest trends right now is overalls. From denim to leather, and shorts to pants – bloggers and celebs around the globe can be seen sporting the trend. I am thrilled that overalls are finally having a moment because I’ve been a fan for years. I think overalls are a classic staple for any gal’s wardrobe and they can be styled a number of ways, and from season to season. All the hot denim brands have released overalls in their spring 2013 collections, and Citizens of Humanity has managed to merge country-cool and high fashion with their Quincey Overalls.
I think it’s difficult for most people to see overalls as anything other than farm attire, but let me tell you that overalls can be chic, edgy, and ultra- cool – it’s all in the styling. Luckily, Citizens of Humanity kick starts the styling for you with these cuffed ankles. Instant cool! I chose to keep things simple by styling these overalls with an easy V-neck tee, my fave espadrilles, and my go-to Ray-Ban aviators. My look is effortless, but I’m looking forward to styling these overalls a number of ways on my personal blog, Belle de Couture. I can’t wait to style them with a silk top in a fun bold print, a crop top (so on-trend right now), a rock-n-roll tee, or even a top with a blazer! Bottom line, overalls are an investment piece for your closet, and you’ll never run out of ways to style them.
So, I’ve bragged enough about the versatility of these overalls, but now let me move on to what’s most important: the fit and feel of the denim. These light-weight overalls are 98% cotton and 2% elastane. They have nice stretch to them and I would say that they run true to size. I usually wear a 27 or 28 in jeans, so I chose a size medium, which I was quite happy with. I love how comfortable these overalls are. I wore them all weekend — from grocery store to dinner at a restaurant. I can definitely see myself reaching for these every weekend because of their comfort and ease. The loose fit and adjustable straps ensures for maximum comfort. The 14″ leg opening gives a flattering leg on all body types – not too slim or too baggy. The 31″ inseam is perfect for all heights, and rolling the ankles is an easy way to get the length and look you desire.
These overalls just exude Americana, and the medium blue wash, worn edges, and light wrinkling gives them a cool vintage vibe (something I’m quite fond of). The light fading and whiskering also plays into the relaxed effortless style.
I really can’t say enough great things about these overalls. They will appeal to both the trend setter and minimalist. They give off easy cool style with the comfort we crave – A+ CoH!
