Though DL1961 is a well-known brand of premium denim I personally have never owned a pair of their jeans before. So when I got the Emma Legging in Arrow I realized that I had been missing out – these jeans are great and unlike anything else I already have in my closet!
The Arrow is a medium indigo wash and is quite simple and beautiful. Slight whiskering and hand sanding along with tacking on the waist band gives them an authentic, vintage feel without overdoing it. The cast of the fabric is a perfect shade of blue that will work great with tons of outfits regardless of the season.
I really appreciate a nice pair of skinny jeans and must say that the DL1961 Emma deserves my many genuine compliments. The fit is fantastic! Slim through the whole leg with a narrow 10″ leg opening this legging silhouette is very flattering. Faux five-pocket construction and ankle length (29″ inseam) keep the look clean by preventing any extra bulk. The medium 8.25″ front rise with a 13″ back rise perform an instant tush lift and tummy tuck – love it! ☺
But without a doubt the most interesting feature of these leggings is the denim itself. The description states that the jeans are crafted with XFit Lycra technology (created by DL1961), a combination of Lenzing Modal and Tencel fibers that enables the fabric to move 360 degrees providing an incredibly close fit and impeccable shape retention. In fact after a whole day of sitting, driving and walking these jeans didn’t lose their shape even a bit which is amazing considering the snug fit. In addition they have a super soft hand feel and are extremely comfy – you absolutely forget that you are wearing skin tight leggings! I also like the silky sheen of this denim which is due to the unusual content and construction.
As far as size goes I am not exactly sure. I got a size 25 instead of my usual 24 and as you see they fit very well especially in the leg but at the same time there is some room in the waist and booty. At the end of the day I’d say go with your regular size and they should work just fine.
I am very excited finally to own a pair of DL1961 jeans and am enjoying wearing my Emma Leggings in Arrow a lot. Behind all the complicated technology and fancy names there is a great pair of versatile, comfortable, cute and sexy jeans that will easily take a favorite spot in any girl’s wardrobe.
