Fashion Marathon week: Starting with Project NYC on Sunday, Liberty and Capsule Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, New York is the showcase for the Holiday and S/S 2014 newest of the newest trends. And, of course, I am going to check out all the venues for you Denimology devotees! 🙂
Today, Project NYC at Pier 94: in a very pleasant ambiance with perfect lighting and cool background music, I had a lot of fun seeing many of my denim buds again. Being that it was a Sunday and like 100 degrees outside, the show was not too crowded and that made it easy for me to talk to the brands and check out their denim up close.
The one trend that is absolutely obvious and undeniably welcome is stretch jeans for men. Be it in regular, premium or selvedge denim, the stretch for men is here to stay. And I love it. There is no use for me talking a lot about this, because YOU NEED TO TRY ON A PAIR, guys. The stretch jeans will speak for themselves.
In terms of colors, besides all shades of blue, ranging from the dark indigo DL1961’s to AGAVE’s super bleached selvedge, there are also a lot of greys and blacks in all shades and washes. I did not see much of a color selection, except, maybe, the occasional burgundy, brown and beige.
All in all I am very happy with the newest trends, as the tendency is towards slimmer and better fitting styles and I really did not see a lot of baggy for you guys in the future!
Enjoy part1 of the the show!
