This is really amazing news, Levi’s! The orange tab vintage Levi’s (LVC’s) have been my consumer dream since forever. Unattainable and hard to find here in the US (you were more likely to find them in Europe – believe it or not!), with a price tag that when you buy a pair of these, you’d like rather frame them and hang them up on your wall than dare to wear them LOL! – well, they are going to be more attainable and available here in the US as well as of now.
– In recent years, Orange Tab pieces have become collectors items among denim enthusiasts for a few reasons. Levi’s® only ran most of the Orange Tab styles for a very short period of time and most of them were initially only sold on the west coast of the United States. The denim used on Orange Tab pieces is particularly beautiful for an early wide loom, so many old examples have worn in very nicely. Levi’s® noticed that it was becoming hard to find the good Orange Tab styles in vintage stores and markets, so the team decided it was time to bring the line back globally as part of the Levi’s® Vintage Clothing collection and offer a wide range of sizes. LVC is reproducing Orange Tab because the styles have managed to stand the test of time. These jeans look just as good today as they did back then.
Levi’s® Vintage Clothing is staying true to its American roots by making the entire collection in the United States, and going forward it has pledged to produce as much of the Orange Tab collection in the USA as possible. –
Levi’s Vintage Clothing hosted the launch of Orange Tab in Topanga Canyon with a one-day music festival, properly dubbed, Party In Your Pants. The festival featured some of today’s finest musicians paying tribute to the sound of early 70’s Los Angeles. Dave Grohl showed up to play along side Chevy Metal and Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighter’s drummer. Dawes played The Band. And Erika Christensen enjoyed everything about 1972.
The line-up included — Chevy Metal (Taylor Hawkins) WITH DAVE GROHL playing The Rolling Stones, Dawes playing The Band, Jonathon Wilson and Friends playing the Grateful Dead, Matt Sweeney and Friends playing a ramble of 1972 classics, Johnathan Rice and Friends playing Gram Parsons and The Flying Burrito Brothers, The CSN Experience with Woodstuck Mud playing Crosby, Stills & Nash.
