Hey everyone! It’s Jen, the Florida Contributor for Denimology, and this is my sweet daughter, Courtney! She’s 9 months old and a ton of fun! 🙂 Recently True Religion was kind enough to send Court an Infant’s Three-Piece Glitter Hoodie, Bodysuit & Baby Jack Jeans Set! Since we live in Florida and the humidity is so high, we chose to dress Court in the denim and bodysuit for now. We’ll be saving her hoodie for the fall and winter months when it cools down. This is Court’s first denim review on Denimology, and this review is for the True Religion Baby Julie Jean.
Courtney’s worn the comfy cotton jeggings before, but this is her first time wearing true denim. I have to say, I was worried about whether or not these jeans would be comfy for her, but it turned out that they had great stretch and allowed her to move around with ease! Right now Courtney isn’t able to say anything except for “Mama”, “Dada” “Night Night” and “ByeBye”, so of course I wasn’t able to hear her thoughts on the denim. However, I will say that she wasn’t fussy at all and I can always tell when she isn’t really feeling an outfit.
The Julie Jean is a lower-rise with a skinny leg. Court’s pair is a medium blue wash. The five pocket jean has a front button closure and a zip fly. The waistband is adjustable and has belt loops. It’s 100% cotton and machine washable — which both are a MUST when you’re dressing your baby.
Courtney is wearing the 6-12 month size, but there’s also a 12-18 month size available. The 6-12 month size has a 17 inch waist, 16 inch outseam, and 11 inch inseam. The jeans were a little long on Courtney (and she is 31 inches long), so I rolled the ankles up a couple times. The front rise is 6 inches and the back rise is 8 inches. The leg opening is also 8 inches. The brand recommends to wash these jeans in cold water, and tumble dry low.
I think what I loved most about these jeans is the adjustable waistband. This allowed the denim to move with Courtney. If you’re a mom then you know once your child is crawling there’s no stopping them. Therefore it’s extremely important to dress them in clothing that is not only comfy, but also practical. Some opinions of this denim might be that it’s too high of a price. However, since this denim is high quality you don’t have to worry about worn-in knees or holes forming. This denim will hold up.
What I also loved about this style is that, even though it’s a skinny style, the legs weren’t super skinny on Courtney at all. In fact, I felt they resembled more of a boot-cut style than a skinny style. The lowrise was also a plus.
I really love these jeans, and I know that they will fit Courtney even better through the fall and winter months. As she grows longer, I can uncuff the jeans which is really nice. I won’t have to worry about her denim becoming too short in the legs (which is a problem we currently have with Courtney’s non-denim pants). I also want to add that, although this jean came with a glitter hoodie and bodysuit, the denim itself looked unisex to me. I think a baby boy could pull these off as easily as a baby girl!
I give these jeans two thumbs up, and I think Courtney does as well! 😉 P.S. Check back soon for another review featuring Courtney and True Religion! Xo!!
