Caroline Style for 7 For All Mankind: Union Square Fall Fashion Fest CR1a.JPG

As a denim fanatic and a newbie to San Francisco, I’m always looking for events and opportunities to meet up with other indigo lovers. So when 7 For All Mankind asked me to host their event for this year’s Union Square Fall Fashion Fest, I was thrilled to help celebrate with one of my favorite brands.

Union Square Fall Fashion Fest is SF’s response to Fashion’s Night Out: a chance to get people out and enjoying the beautiful weather on an Indian Summer evening, while checking out the must haves from the fall collections. I previewed the collection last week during 7FAM’s Malhia Kent launch (with one of my favorite bloggers, Blair of Atlantic Pacific), and I was floored by the gorgeous pieces the brand debuted for fall. Long gone are your middle school A pockets, replaced by super-soft faux leather leggings, printed skinnys with embroidery and lace, and a perfectly curated sportswear collection that makes you forget you’re standing in the flagship of a denim brand. There are sheer blouses, silky camisoles, and buttery leather jackets. I fell hard for their cardigans (think leather elbow patches) and novel printed blazers. And they all pair back perfectly to the indigo that line the walls (in every fit, wash, and trend, of course).

In full disclosure, my last pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans was years ago, with a studded A pocket and a medium wash, long since retired in the dark wash skinny era. But I’ve been following the brand closely over the last few years (in my previous life I bought denim for a major department store), and have watched the line evolve for both women and men. At market this summer I saw one of their fall blazers and fell hard. So when 7 For All Mankind invited me to the SF store to meet Lauren and her team, and invited me to pick out an outfit to complement my hosting duties for the evening, I was so excited to see my favorite piece from market hanging in the shop. The Metallic Jacquard Blazer has a sexy, slim cut without feeling cropped and easily dresses up any look. On the hanger, the jacket might seem intimidating, but it’s a beauty on… And a great statement piece to spruce up a simple jeans & tank look. I think this will be my go-to as the holidays roll around, paired with both denim and leggings, as well as A-line mini skirts and little black dresses. I wore the metallic jacquard blazer (lovingly referred to as my “Liberace jacket” all week) paired back to The Skinny in Sueded Black for the week’s event.

I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of leather leggings for two years, and with the fit being really difficult on most (and accompanied by a $600+ price tag), I’ve held off. That is, until I found these sueded black skinnies at the 7FAM shop. The knit fabric looks and feels just like leather or suede but comes in shy of $200. They fit like your favorite skinny jean, but with extra stretch, and a super soft feel. The recovery was great, and even after running around the event for a few hours (including the walk up and down some major SF hills), they didn’t stretch out. I’d recommend ordering true to size on these, since they are very stretchy, and you’ll want a tight fit for a sleek leather-like look.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out for the event! It was such a treat meeting new faces, and hanging out with my SF friends. And the evening could not have been more perfect. Clear skies, warm weather, cold wine, full streets (and shops!), and of course, all of the beautiful new fall collections. Special thanks for 7 For All Mankind for inviting me to host a fun evening, and try out some fabulous fall pieces from their new line.
