For this fall ’13 PAIGE has gone environmental friendly with her men’s collection. Kudos to PAIGE YAY!
“Paige Denim’s Fall/Winter 2013 Men’s Collection embarks on a journey to a new frontier- one inspired by undiscovered, unfamiliar territories. “Over the past couple of years, we have take significant strides to reduce our overall carbon footprint as a compaany”, says Founder and Creative Director Paige Adams-Geller. “As designers, we have become extremely interested in investigating the different ways we can incorporate this eco mentality into the denim we are creating.” Restored is an exploration of the land
and its natural resources, borrowing Earth’s raw ingredients – cotton, oil, coal, and wood – to re-imagine pieces in a modern way.
Constructed from eight melted down plastic bottles spun into wearable fibers, Badger is a modernized vintage wash that is a true workman’s jean. Featuring matte black hardware, flannel like lining, and subtle destruction; the lean was designed to highlight the details and resources that created it.
Four different wash technicians apply their specialized skills to create Forge – a classic blue jean with an unsuspecting origin. Spun from re-purposed and recycled bottle fibers, this multi-tonal wash starts off as a dark indigo and then undergoes a tinting process to bring out the jeans natural grey tones.
The Buck Series is constructed in North Carolina, using yarn made from approximately fifteen recycled black plastic trays. Each garment is over-dyed using the rich earth tones that are found in nature with strategically placed distressing to reveal the recycled fibers. The fibers from the black plastic trays are exposed with the careful placement of various distress points and light hand sanding.”
The Restored collection is available in key retailers worldwide as well as on the PAIGE website.
