D-ID already distinguished itself in its first season with the diamond‐stitched or “diamant” technique, and this is now synonymous with the brand. Those rad diamond-stitched jeans and jackets continue to be a main focus also for this coming spring and summer /14. While the contrast quilting seen in past collections reemerges on Biker and Moto Zip skinnies, D‐ID adds two new stitches to its repertoire for Spring. The first is a micro‐quilt, a smaller version of the traditional, which gives subtle contrast to white and lighter wash denim, and makes a statement when applied to dark blue styles. The second, a broken‐needle stitch in a diamond pattern, is a further evolution of D‐ID’s original quilting. This “needlemania” technique not only gives added texture to jeans, shorts and shirts, but also provides a refreshing alternative to printed denim.
This said, I know that D-ID is absolutely going to be – if they are not yet already! – hot and their insane jeans will be sky rocketing very soon everywhere.
