If you guys read my previous post about the J Brand L8092 Aline in Hewson you know I am a big fan of the brand and absolutely love their denim so I never miss an opportunity to do a review. The 1446 Carey in Lacquered Carnelian is one of the newest styles I received and what an awesome pair of jeans it is!

I really enjoy the moto trend that has been so huge for the last few seasons. I like its edgy vibe and extreme details like exaggerated stitching, zippers and studs that have been showcased in denim. It is especially cool to see new and original ideas executed in this classic motif and J Brand’s Carey is the perfect example of a unique approach to the moto look. I love the long side zippers that come up almost to the mid-knee – they are so much cooler than the typical short ones and much more comfortable than full-length zips! The little flap with the small snap button at the very bottom makes them even better and adds a special final touch to the design. By the way, did you notice that the tab is rounded on one side? That helps avoid the sloppy look of curled up corners. And of course I love the Carnelian color! This deep cherry red is just beautiful and so suitable for these jeans. It really plays up the feminine and classy side of this tough chic style.

The J Brand Carey is a truly great capri fit. Its skinny, curve-hugging silhouette slims and elongates to flatter your body. This pant features a medium rise that is more towards the lower end of the range. It still provides plenty of coverage but is a little bit sexier. Your butt in these jeans will look great just like in any other J Brand’s you put on. Their fairly small, higher placed pockets truly make a difference and help contour your rear beautifully. The front slash pockets are faux which really is for the best. In such a slim fit they are hardly functional anyway and only add bulk and visible lines of the lining underneath.

The denim of these skinnies is a medium weight (10 oz.) blend of 70% tencel, 28% polyester and 2% elastane. It’s unbelievable how soft and stretchy it is considering that it is lacquered. Though the coating is very light it still gives plenty of sleek shine to the fabric to achieve a leather-like effect. This denim has great shape recovery and won’t bag out even after hours and hours of wearing.

I haven’t had any problems with J Brand’s sizing so far (knock on wood :-)) and these skinnies in my regular size fit perfectly.

J Brand with their 1446 Carey in Lacquered Carnelian has once again proven that they make fantastic denim! Always fashionable and perfectly fitting, their jeans will bring true joy to any denim fan, just like you and I 😉

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
