Hey loves, Jen here and today I’m reviewing the Rag & Bone Bomber Legging in Mulberry. Let me first start off by saying that Rag & Bone is a brand that I cannot get enough of. It’s a brand that does chic and edgy oh so well, and is worn by celebs and bloggers alike. Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner, and Emma Stone are big fans of the brand. I had the pleasure of reviewing the brand a couple years ago (see my review HERE) and I immediately fell in love. One of the things that I love about the brand is that the majority of their clothing is made here in the US. Each of their designs is made with high quality material and these leggings prove that. The material looks and feels so luxe.
These leggings are comprised of 60% Cotton, 35% Modal, and 5% Polyurethane Japanese twill. They are incredibly soft. Honestly the softest legging I’ve ever tried on. If you’ve never tried denim comprised of Japanese twill you need to because you’re certainly missing out. The stretch is really good as well. I’m wearing a size 28, but I wish I had gone down a size because they did stretch out throughout the day of wear. It’s important to note that leggings should be worn a little tighter than skinny jeans. Leggings don’t have pockets, so the look should be snug and streamlined. You want the leggings to fit like a second skin, but still be comfortable. Had I gone down a size I think the legging would have fit better and would have given me a more flattering look (especially from behind).
These leggings are mid-rise, which I love. As I get older I find that I’m drawn more to higher rises versus lower. I think a mid-rise jean is perfect and for many reasons. For one, it sits slightly above the hip bone, ensuring that the jean doesn’t sag or creep down your hips when you’re going about your day. It allows for a more clean, sophisticated look. Secondly, it’s great when you want to tuck in your top, which we are seeing a lot more of in style blogs these days. Lastly, you don’t have to worry about getting too full during a meal and having to unbutton the top button of your jeans (c’mon ladies, I know I’m not the only one that does this from time to time). The mid-rise isn’t high enough to create discomfort in your stomach region, which is always a plus. It’s all about balancing style and comfort, right?
I am a big fan of the moto trend that we’ve been seeing this past fall and this winter. I love an outfit with some edge and these bomber leggings are a great way to give the moto trend a try if you’re intrigued, but not brave enough to go all the way. The leather piping down the side of the legs adds great detail and really makes these leggings look expensive. I mean, if you are paying $100+ for a legging, you want it to look expensive, right?
I’m also quite fond of the mulberry color of these leggings. We all know how popular the burgundy/garnet/oxblood hues are for winter and I must say that you’d be quite surprised how versatile the color can really be. It’s such a rich hue and is a great alternative to the played-out black legging. If you aren’t that into the mulberry wash, but you’re a fan of this style you’re in luck — Rag & Bone also made this legging in midnight, which is a deep indigo blue color.
Overall I’d say that these Rag & Bone Bomber Leggings in Mulberry are pretty fabulous. The soft, luxe material is addicting and the mulberry color and leather piping are sure to up the chic factor on your winter looks. If you are a fan, but aren’t too sure about your size I recommend going with your normal size, or what you normally wear in leggings. However, if you have the opportunity to try your current size and also a size down, I recommend it, to ensure you achieve the best fit.
