7 For All Mankind Side Button Pocket Short in Deep Rinse - front view
Reading the title of my post you guys are probably thinking: “Isn’t it a little too early to write about shorts?! It’s February right now!” And usually that would be true – it’s hard to consider buying a pair of cut-offs when the majority of the country is covered in snow. But not in the case of the [search]7 For All Mankind Side Button Pocket Short in Deep Rinse[/search] and here’s why…

You should think about these shorts as truly multi-seasonal for several reasons. The clean and classy silhouette doesn’t have an exclusively “beachy” feel and will complement a chic sweater or button-down as well as a casual tee. The denim with micro-neps has a tweed-like texture and look that adds to their seasonal flexibility. And of course let’s not forget about the Deep Rinse wash which couldn’t be any more versatile. As a result these shorts will be as great with a pair of black or bright-hued tights, ankle booties and a chunky pullover in winter as they are with a breezy blouse and strappy sandal in summer.

The silhouette of these shorts is very nice and I’m sure you girls will like it a lot. It features a medium rise which is one of the most flattering for the mid-section. The higher back rise and perfectly contoured band provides a secure and comfortable fit around the waist. In these shorts you won’t have to worry about “rolls”, “love handles” or a “muffin top” 🙂 I also like the relatively wide leg opening which is always much more slimming than a narrower one. My legs, which are pretty muscular to begin with, seem so big and buff in shorts that fit tightly around the thigh whereas in roomier ones they look much skinnier and longer. These pants have a 3.25” inseam which really is the optimal length – it is still cheeky and sexy while providing full booty coverage 🙂 The flap button pocket (such a cute detail!) is also done very well. It doesn’t bulge or stick out on the side (which can be so incredibly unflattering) but lays perfectly flat thanks to its smart design and placement.

As I mentioned earlier these shorts are made of a medium-weight neppy denim that has a subtle tweed look. Even though the fabric content has less than the usual 2% spandex (the content is 93% cotton, 6% poly and 1% spandex) it is surprisingly stretchy which makes the somewhat higher mid-rise very comfy. It is also extremely soft and has a nice, velvety “hand”.

Even in sunny and beautiful LA it is still winter and not quite the “sweater weather” that “The Neighbourhood” sings about but more of leather jacket or even light fur coat weather 🙂  But I am stoked that at least I can get a sense of Spring with my 7 For All Mankind Side Button Pocket Shorts in Deep Rinse 🙂

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
