7 For All Mankind Welt Pocket Trouser with Leather Trim - front
I love-love-love skinny jeans and always will! Cool and edgy while also so easy and convenient – what could be better?! But even for girls like me who have a closet full of skinnies it may be time to change things up a bit. This year you MUST HAVE a pair of flares! [search]7 For All Mankind[/search] offers a few of them in their new Spring’14 collection and the Welt Pocket Trouser with Leather Trim is one of my favorites.

From the get-go a few things attracted me to this pant, particularly the beautiful blue color and unique leather detailing. The French Blue Rinse is a clean and bright indigo wash that looks “modish” and chic in an iconic 70’s kind of way. The contrast spicy orange stitching and reddish brown tone of the trim on the welt front pockets amplify the effect even more. Combine all of this with an extreme flare and you have an absolutely fabulous pair of denim with a retro twist done in a modern manner.

I really like this Trouser fit from 7 For All Mankind. The silhouette features a high rise that is very flattering to the mid-section and a 34.5” inseam that makes your legs look a mile long. These jeans are definitely pretty long so to wear them without altering you have to be pretty tall or add a few inches to your height with pumps or wedges. The good thing is that if you decide to go with the alterations you won’t lose the dramatic flare that starts pretty high at the knee. Also, have you ever noticed that high-rise jeans can sometimes flatten your butt? This happens to me quite often and my not-so-curvy figure can’t afford it. And what I love about these jeans is that they give my tush a nice shape instead of turning it into an unappetizing pancake.

The fabric of these trousers is a medium-weight (9.75 oz.) denim that will be great for all four seasons. The 98% cotton/2% spandex blend is remarkably stretchy and makes the typically uncomfortable high-rise pant very comfy. Another nice feature is that the leather trim is washable which means you won’t have to hassle with dry-cleaning as regular machine wash is recommended.

Knowing that high-rise jeans can run small I was pretty nervous about getting them without trying them on first but it all worked out and my regular size fits just right, actually really-really well. In fact thanks to the stretchiness of the fabric these pants will be comfy even after a big dinner 🙂

How excited are you to rock out some crazy flares this Spring/Summer season? I absolutely am! And the 7 For All Mankind Welt Pocket Trouser with Leather Trim is a fabulous way to do it!!!

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
