AG Drew Boyfriend jeans - front view
Distressed denim continues to be on trend and is featured in the Spring/Summer’14 collections of many brands which is great because I love wearing it! So “in” right now, a great pair of shredded jeans will always be relevant and an important piece to have in your closet year after year. The [search]AG Adriano Goldschmied[/search] Drew Boyfriend jean in 14 Years Tailspin is one such timeless piece that will never lose its cool with time.

This pant is part of the AG-ed Vintage program which imitates naturally aged denim ranging from 1 to 30 years old. The 14 Years Tailspin is a fairly light indigo wash with soft whiskering, local hand sanding and aggressive distressing. The rips throughout the front are beautifully done to look very authentic and not contrived.  As you can probably see, there is no backing behind the holes which means you’ll be able to add your own personal touch as they continue to wear in.

Overall I am a big fan of boyfriend jeans but rarely a fan of my butt in many of them. It just looks so sad and saggy, especially after a few wears 🙁 The Drew, one of AG’s newest fits, is actually very different in that sense and quite revolutionary. Unlike many boyfriend fits, the Drew is slightly fitted through the hip and has a perfectly contoured low-sitting waistband. Therefore the longer 10” rise and loose leg create that slouchy “borrowed-from-your-guy” effect without completely neglecting your tush and showing off its shape pretty well. What else can I add besides the fact that even my not so enthusiastic about boyfriend jeans husband loved the Drew on me because there was no saggy butt syndrome?! Being a straight leg is another cool and differentiating feature of this pant – you won’t get the typical boyfriend jean taper but a wider opening which looks so much cuter and is definitely more femme.

The denim of these jeans is an 81% cotton/19% lyocell blend that is very nice and soft. The higher content of lyocell is “responsible” not only for the supple hand feel but also makes this fabric much stronger and durable than the 100% cotton denim that is usually used for destroyed jeans.

Very often boyfriend’s run somewhat big and can become way too roomy after a couple of wears. AG’s Drew fits true to size and doesn’t stretch out much even after wearing them all day long.

The AG Adriano Goldschmied Drew Boyfriend jeans in 14 Years Tailspin are awesome! They truly are special and different and will be an amazing addition to your denim collection even if you already own a ton of other boyfriend jeans!

I am the EU contributor and product reviewer for Denimology. From the time I was 5 years old browsing through my first fashion magazine I knew I wanted to be in this industry. While working as a Merchandiser at Gloria Jeans, the largest denim manufacturer and retailer in Russia, I discovered my passion for denim. It fascinated me then and years later it fascinates me even more. Every day I learn and discover something new and exciting about denim and am thrilled to do it hand in hand with all of you!
