Maybe you guys remember my post about the denim seminar organized by iSKO last September. What an amazing event it was – I learned so much about new fibers, fabrics and the latest technologies used in the textile industry! This year iSKO went beyond its “denim language” and sponsored one of the runway shows during LA Fashion Week.
This “Istanbul Designers” show was presented within the Concept Shows for the Fall/Winter collections featuring Turkey Designer Ozgur Masur. His collection was absolutely fantastic – just take a look at the intricately embroidered and beaded dresses! I am so glad I had the chance to see it – thank you iSKO!
And of course considering that we are a denim dedicated blog I must mention the special denim carpet provided by iSKO for the red carpet entrance (or should I say blue?!). It was made using recycled selvedge fabric (and iSKO produces more than 200 million meters of fabric each year!) with lasered logos throughout and looked pretty awesome – I couldn’t resist taking a photo on it with Kutay Saritosun, iSKO’s Senior Marketing Executive!
By the way, check out Kutay’s outfit; don’t you love his bright skinny jeans and bow tie? I totally do and it is all by iSKO. It actually made me think about how much this company contributes to fashion and that it goes well beyond just providing fabrics and even sponsoring great events like this one. Besides helping our favorite brands like 7 For All Mankind, Hudson and J Brand in executing the “hottest” trends they in fact make them possible. I’m talking about creating knit denim for so “in” denim “sweats”, coated fabrics for leather-like looks or even super stretch denim for the slimmest silhouettes imaginable. Behind all of this is not only the designer’s creativity but also scientific innovation in a textile industry where iSKO is definitely a leader.
